16. The expert from GTB proposed to correct and amend some specifications in the Consolidated Resolution on the common specification of light source categories (R.E.5) (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2017/18). The expert from IEC proposed another correction to R.E.5 (GRE-78-19 and Annex III). GRE adopted these proposals and requested the secretariat to submit them to WP.29 for consideration and adoption at the March 2018 session as draft Amendment 1 to the original version of R.E.5.
101. The representative of Belgium, Chair of the Working Party on Lighting and Light-Signalling (GRE), presented to the World Forum for consideration the proposals for amendments 1 and 2 to the Consolidated Resolution on the common specification of light source categories (R.E.5) (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2018/32 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2018/33/Rev.1).
102. WP.29 adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2018/32 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2018/33/Rev.1 without objections or abstentions. WP.29 noted that Amendment 2 to R.E.5 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2018/33/Rev.1) should be made public on the same date as the entry into force of Supplement 7 to the original version of UN Regulation No. 128 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2018/30).
17. On behalf of TF SR, the expert from Germany introduced amendment proposals to UN Regulation No. 128 for the use of LED substitute light sources (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2018/39) as well as corresponding amendments to the Consolidated Resolution on the common specification of light source categories (R.E.5) (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2018/40). GRE adopted the proposals and requested the secretariat to submit them to WP.29 and AC.1 for consideration at their March 2019 sessions as draft Supplement 9 to the original version of UN Regulation No. 128 and as draft amendment 3 to R.E.5. GRE noted that both amendments are part of the same package and should enter into force on the same date.
