Agenda item 4.9.11. Proposal for Supplement 14 to Regulation No. 106

Proposal to align UN R106 with international standards (ETRTO, T&RA and ISO 4351-2 table 2) with regard to Improved Flexion (IF) tyres and Very high Flexion (VF) tyres to add load indexes to the table in the Annex 4 to keep up with the technical evolution of tyres. This proposal also clarifies the application of EC Regulation 167/2013 which refers to UN R106.

38. The expert from ETRTO presented ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRRF/2016/15 proposing the inclusion in the Regulation of load indexes from 201 to 279 to follow the technical evolution of tyres. GRRF adopted this proposal and requested the secretariat to submit both adopted proposals above to WP.29 and AC.1 for consideration at their June 2016 sessions, as Supplement 14 to Regulation No. 106.

The expert from ETRTO presented ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRRF/2015/31 proposing amendments related to Improved Flexion (IF) tyres and Very high Flexion (VF) tyres avoiding possible misunderstanding for the application of the EC Regulation No. 167/2013 that refers to Regulation No. 106. GRRF adopted this proposal and requested the secretariat to submit it to WP.29 and AC.1 for consideration at their June 2016 sessions, as Supplement 13 to Regulation No. 106.
