Proposal to clarify conditions under which direction indicator lamps may be switched ON to indicate the status of the device to prevent unauthorized use and to include provisions for exterior courtesy lamps on motorcycles under UN R53 (as is already the case for motor vehicles under UN R48).
This proposal (WP.29/2019/17), as amended by para. 107 of the 177th session report, 2018/86/Rev.1, and 2018/104/Rev.1, was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-four Contracting Parties out of the 46 applying UN R53 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-four voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
