Proposal for Supplement 17 to the 02 series of amendments to Regulation No. 3

As part of the Simplification of Lighting Regulations program, this proposal prepares UN R3 for being “frozen” and superseded by a new comprehensive regulation on retro-reflecting devices. The proposal incorporates by reference specifications, as applicable, of the lighting installation Regulations Nos. 48, 53, 74 or 86 and adds specifications for conformity of production.
This proposal (WP.29/2017/19) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-seven Contracting Parties out of the 48 applying UN R3 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-seven voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
