This document lists the decisions taken during the GRVA session in Montreal. These decisions will be formally considered and likely adopted during a session on 23 June in Geneva.
Questionnaire on DETA/IWVTA Workshop. Part 1: DETA session requests respondent’s name and organization, then asks about level of understanding of DETA session as high, moderate, or low; items needing more explanation; and suggestions to make DETA more attractive for 1958 Contracting Parties, 1998 Contracting Parties, 1997 Contracting Parties, approval holders, and other users. Part 2: IWVTA session asks about level of understanding of IWVTA session as high, moderate, or low; items needing more explanation; and for Authorities, how Regulation No. 0 could be improved to make IWVTA acceptable for use as part of vehicle type-approval process. The future workshop section asks about expectations for next workshop and suggestions on contents, timing, and length.
This intermediate draft proposes a new UN Regulation on ADS Marker Lamps based on discussions in technical groups. The regulation establishes requirements for approval of ADS Marker Lamps for motor vehicles of categories M1–M3, N1–N3, L6–L7, and O, as well as vehicle installation requirements. Key provisions include definitions of front, rear, and side ADS Marker Lamp categories with specifications for luminous intensity, colour (blue-green), geometric visibility angles, and positioning. The regulation covers lamp approval procedures, technical requirements, conformity testing, markings, and vehicle-level installation specifications including electrical connections, operational conditions, and interactions with direction indicators. Transitional provisions and communication forms for approvals are included.
The meeting reviewed documents on substitute light sources including H10, HIR2, HB3, and H9 LED retrofit types for UN R.E.5 approval. Category sheets for these types were confirmed. The Task Force agreed to submit four category sheets as a single formal document to GRE with justification in two parts. Market surveillance activities were discussed with CITA, WP29 IWG on PTI, EU Forum on Market Surveillance, and UK authorities to identify approved or non-approved LED retrofit products. A follow-up meeting was scheduled for 13 July 2026.
TFGP-08-06 (Rev. of TFGP-07-08) presents draft recommendations for GRE on glare prevention. The recommendations include:
Methods for evaluating electromagnetic immunity of blind-spot detection systems are proposed using a simple reciprocating motion device equipped with a reflector. The electromagnetic immunity test is conducted after the BSD system has been activated. Vehicle’s electromagnetic immunity test methods and conditions are consistent with the previous ones. Reproducibility has been verified across various vehicle models with only minor adjustments required. The proposal seeks opinions from member countries regarding the necessity of electromagnetic immunity evaluation methods for BSD systems.
Proposal to amend definitions 2.22 and 2.49 to modify the descriptions of non-volatile and volatile memory, and amend para. 5.3.1.2. to permit the EDR to write captured data from threshold criterion (a) in volatile memory only, with data from volatile memory written to non-volatile memory if any other trigger of para. 5.3.1. occurs or the vehicle master control switch is deactivated. The modification reduces memory wear in vehicles characterized by frequent stops.
