UN Regulation No. 107 (M2 and M3 vehicles)

Working Party on General Safety Provisions (GRSG) may wish to be informed by the experts of the Working Party on Passive Safety (GRSP) on the outcome of recent meetings of the informal working group (IWG) on “Securing of Children in buses and coaches” and on the adoption of the UN Regulation on this subject at the May 2023 session of GRSP. Moreover, GRSG may wish to consider the terms of references of Phase 2 of the IWG prepared by this group for comments.

GRSG agreed to continue the consideration of specifications on autonomous shuttles with a view to reviewing the applicability of existing requirements or creating new categories of these vehicles.

GRSG also agreed to resume discussion on the issue of the lack of front protection for drivers and tourist guides in the event of a frontal collision, based on the follow-up of its experts and those of GRSP.

Finally, GRSG agreed to resume discussion on the issue of on the accessibility of disabled people using public buses based on feedback on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles conference in Yokohama and experiences of the national level on this subject.
