UN R109: Proposal for Supplement 1 to the 01 series of amendments

Proposal to:
- Correct the description of a tyre to exclude aspects outside the scope of UN R109
- Clarify the definition of nominal rim diameter
- Clarify the definition of principal grooves in line with the proposal for UN R54
- Amend para. 6.4.4.2. to clarify that the UN R117 certificate may be used for obtaining the type approval under UN R172 of retreaded tyres classified as traction tyre
- Simplify the wording of the requirements for professional off-road tyres
- Replace “XXX” with the UN Regulation No. 172 in the references to the approval of retreaded tyres with regard to their snow performance and/or classification as traction tyre.

This proposal (WP.29/2025/74) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-three Contracting Parties out of the 54 applying UN R109 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-three voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
