9. Regulation No. 16
GRSP/2016/13 | Proposal for 07 series of amendments to Regulation No. 16 Proposal to insert provisions for vehicles equipped with manual airbag deactivation devices, especially to ensure that vehicles meet performance requirements regardless of the airbag activation setting and to specific requirements for airbag status reminders and telltales.
GRSP/2016/21 | Proposal for Supplement 9 to the 06 series and Supplement 1 to the 07 series of Amendments to Regulation No. 16 Proposal to add new CRS fixtures and otherwise align UN R16 with changes introduced through UN R129 (enhanced child restraint systems). Two "Booster Seat" fixtures (ISO/B2 and ISO/B3) were added to UN R16 to coincide with the implementation of Phase 2 of UN R129. These fixtures were developed within ISO/TC 22/SC 36/WG 2 (Child Restraint Systems) and follow the principle already established in Regulations 16 and 129 to ensure child restraint to car compatibility. An additional "Reduced-Size Rearward Facing toddler CRS" fixture (ISO/R2x) was added to facilitate compatibility in small cars/seating positions. The ISO/B2 booster seat fixture was added in the i-Size concept. Lateral facing fixtures (ISO/L1 and ISO/L2) have been upgraded.
GRSP/2016/24 | Proposal for Supplement 1 to the 07 series of Amendments to Regulation No. 16 Proposal to update the 07 series of amendments in line with UN R129 and changes to the 06 series (Supplements 8 and 9). Two "Booster Seat" fixtures (ISO/B2 and ISO/B3) were added to UN R16 to coincide with the implementation of Phase 2 of UN Regulation No. 129. These fixtures were developed within ISO/TC 22/SC 36/WG 2 (Child Restraint Systems) and follow the principle already established in Regulations 16 and 129 to ensure child restraint to car compatibility. An additional “Reduced-Size Rearward Facing toddler CRS” fixture (ISO/R2x) was added to facilitate compatibility in small cars/seating positions. The ISO/B2 booster seat fixture was added in the i-Size concept. Lateral facing fixtures (ISO/L1 and ISO/L2) have been upgraded.
GRSP-60-10 | Proposal for amendments to the draft Supplement 1 to the 07 series of Amendments to Regulation No. 16 This informal doc amends the draft supplement presented in document GRSP/2016/24 in order to harmonize the mass tolerances of the ISO fixtures. The proposal deletes a reference to the center of gravity and geometrical centroid. The centroid would need more information before choosing tolerances needed for certification tests.
GRSP-60-11/Rev.1 | Proposal to amend the draft Supplement 9 to the 06 series of Amendments to Regulation No. 16 This informal doc amends the draft supplement presented in document GRSP/2016/21 in order to harmonize the mass tolerances of the ISO fixtures. The proposal deletes a reference to the center of gravity and geometrical centroid. The centroid would need more information before choosing tolerances needed for certification tests.
GRSP-60-12 | Proposal for Supplement 1 to the 07 series of amendments to Regulation No. 16 The current paragraph 15.6 foresees that, for type approval to the 07 series, safety belt reminders are not compulsory until 1 September 2022 on the exempted seats (e.g. seat rows with a suspension seat). In the absence of any clarification for the case of extensions of type approvals, paragraph 15.6 of UN R16.07 could create interpretation problems when a previously granted approval for an exempted vehicle needs to be extended after 1 September 2022. As previously agreed by GRSP, this proposal would clarify that the new SBR requirements would be applicable only for new type approvals as from 1 September 2022, such that previously granted approvals would remain accepted, with their exemption.
GRSP-60-22 | Proposal to amend the draft Supplement 1 to the 07 series of Amendments to Regulation No. 16 Proposal to correct figure 2 in Annex 1B to show the referenced zones A and B, to add sentence "Non-rigid material of < 50 Shore A hardness may be removed in order to demonstrate that covered or padded rigid parts are not contacted by the head or the chest of the manikin during the test.", and to make editorial improvements.
24. Collective amendments to Regulations Nos. 14 and 16
GRSP-58-03/Rev.1 | Proposal for collective amendments to Regulation Nos. 14 and 16 Proposal to align the definition of "i-Size" child seating used in the two regulations.
25. Collective amendments to Regulations Nos. 16, 44, 94 and 129
GRSP-59-01 | Remarks to the Collective amendments to Regulations Nos. 16, 44, 94 and 129 Hungary agrees with the proposed change to the airbag label, but recommends the addition of transitional provisions.
GRSP/2015/30 | Collective amendments to Regulations Nos. 16, 44, 94 and 129 Proposal to harmonize information in the airbag warning label on the correct installation of Child Restraint Systems (CRS).
