The proposal would have exterior CMS treated identically as exterior rear-view mirrors presently are under UN R94.
CMS II-07-13 | Proposal for camera-monitor systems amendment to UN Regulation No. 10 Proposal to align UN R10 with the amendment to UN R46 that would enable the type approval of camera-monitor systems in place of rear-view mirrors. The amendment would replace the reference to rear-view mirrors with "devices for indirect vision" including CMS.
CMS II-07-14 | Proposal for camera-monitor systems amendment to UN Regulation No. 79 This proposal of the IGCMS-II amends the provisions on steering equipment according Regulation 79 to include vehicles equipped with devices for indirect vision such as camera-monitor devices. Various steering effort test provisions depend on the turning circle which currently excludes external mirrors. The text is amended to exclude as well external camera’s for camera-monitor devices. The proposal would replace the reference to rear-view mirrors with the term "devices for indirect vision" to encompass exterior CMS devices.
CMS II-07-15 | Proposal for camera-monitor systems amendment to UN Regulation No. 107 This proposal of the IGCMS-II amends the provisions on the category M2 or M3 vehicles with regard to their general construction according Regulation 107 to include vehicles equipped with devices for indirect vision such as camera-monitor devices. A folding seat for use by the crew, in position of use and when folded, may not obstruct the driver’s view on the exterior rear-view mirror. This also applies for the view on the monitor used for camera-monitor devices, if fitted.

CMS II-07-17 | Final Report on Camera-Monitor Systems as a Replacement for Exterior Mirrors in Cars and Trucks This study compared and assessed camera-monitor systems and conventional exterior mirrors in test drives and static tests under different external conditions. The assessments include the examination of technical aspects and of issues pertaining to the design of human-machine interaction.
