In order to increase protection for older occupants, the Frontal Impact informal group proposes to decrease the permissible chest deflection for the 50th percentile Hybrid III dummy to 42 mm from the current 50 mm. (This change is proposed in concert with the development of a new frontal impact regulation focused on occupant restraint systems.)
