The SG58 subgroup expects to finalize the revised 1958 Agreement during this session. The proposal submitted to the World Forum as document WP.29-162-04 is complete with the exception of fine-tuning of Article 4 on safeguards against non-compliant products and the open question on increasing the required majority for approval of measures above the current two-thirds majority. The latter question is a policy issue that must be addressed by the AC.1 (i.e., the policy-level delegations of all the Contracting Parties to the 1958 Agreement). Therefore, this subgroup expects to finalize Article 4 to enable the Contracting Parties to consider in detail this new version of the 1958 Agreement prior to voting on its adoption perhaps at the November 2014 World Forum session;
