132. The representative of the Republic of Korea updated AC.3 on the latest activities of the IWG on Children Left in Vehicles (IWG-CLIV). He recalled that AC.3 had decided to postpone its decision on the request for authorisation to develop a new UN GTR. IWG-CLIV has continued to work to strengthen the rationale for the UN GTR as requested by AC.3. In addition, it has also progressed in its work to develop new UN Regulations under the 1958 Agreement, with two new UN Regulations planned for buses in a first stage (planned submission to GRSP in 2026) and one for passenger vehicles in a second stage. Finally, he informed AC.3 that his country would host the 15th IWG-CLIV meeting from 24 to 27 March 2026 in a hybrid format and invited interested experts to participate. The representative of Canada recommended IWG-CLIV to consider the development of regulations jointly under both the 1958 and 1998 Agreements to avoid a non-harmonization between the two frameworks.
