On behalf of the Chair of IWG on PTI, who was excused for medical reasons, the Secretary of the Group reported on the results achieved at its fortysecond session held in Brussels (Belgium) on 28 January 2026. He mentioned the discussion on the coordination and consistency between the 1958 and 1997 Agreements, as well as the status of the discussions on ADAS/ADS and data exchange, based on the joint proposal of Japan and the Russian Federation on ePTI and diagnostic data access, which was under development. He highlighted that the group had identified minor textual inconsistencies (“REESS” vs. “RESS”), which would be corrected. He also noted that the group was monitoring the development of the Roadworthiness Package currently being prepared in Europe, and that it had received a related presentation from the European Commission (DG MOVE). The representative of the Russian Federation shared additional insights and details on the approach followed by the group in line with the document on vehicle wholelife compliance drafted by the group and approved by WP.29.

83. WP.29 noted the progress report received and wished prompt recovery to the Chair of the IWG on PTI.
