The representative of Japan, Chair of the IWG on International Whole Vehicle Type Approval (IWVTA), presented the status report of the fiftieth session of the group, held at the OICA offices in Paris (France) on 5 March 2026. He explained that the group continued to explore new approaches to Universal IWVTA (U-IWVTA) and Limited IWVTA (L-IWVTA) to increase the attractiveness of UN Regulation No. 0. He announced that the group planned to submit a proposal to improve clarity of the General Guidelines on Transitional Provisions to WP.29 in June 2026 and had started a review of amendments related to the 09 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 0. He invited the experts to join a DETA and IWVTA workshop on 17 June 2026, 09:30-12:30 CEST, in Flensburg, Germany. The representative of OICA highlighted the importance of this workshop.
