The secretariat informed WP.29 that Cambodia acceded to the 1958 Agreement in February 2026 and noted that the Agreement would enter into force for the country in April 2026, with E70 as its distinguishing number. WP.29 welcomed this accession and invited Cambodian representatives to participate in WP.29 in person in the near future. WP.29 also noted that, on various occasions, the secretariat and Japan had encouraged Cambodia to participate in WP.29 and that the secretariat had encouraged Cambodia to accede to the 1997 and 1998 Agreements.

The secretariat informed the World Forum about the latest update of the status of the 1958 Agreement, based on ECE/TRANS/WP.29/343/Rev.34, available at https://unece.org/status-1958-agreement-and-annexed-regulations. WP.29 noted that contracting parties should notify the secretariat about any amendments needed to Add.1 to the status document via the online data base (/343app) only. WP.29 was also informed about the situation with the entry into force of the recent amendment proposals and new UN Regulations (WP.29-198-22).
