34. GRE was informed about the considerations of the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (WP.1) at its recent session (March 2021) on the GRE/WP.1 common issues, including optical and/or audible signals of autonomous vehicles.

35. GRE also noted that the Inland Transport Committee (ITC), at its recent session in February 2021, had approved the WP.1 decision to establish a new Group of Experts tasked with drafting a new legal instrument on the use of automated vehicles in road traffic.
