The expert from Germany tabled a proposal that allows the manual switch-off of all lighting devices in vehicles used by authorities responsible for maintaining public order (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2019/14 and GRE-82-41-Rev.1). Some experts were of the view that such a derogation should be addressed in the framework of national or regional rather than international law. Several experts indicated practical difficulties in identifying those vehicles when at the stage of type approval and manufacturing. GRE agreed to revert to the issue at the next session.
27. The expert from Poland proposed modifications to provisions on the rear registration plate lamps (GRE-82-08). Following a brief exchange of views, GRE invited the expert to submit a formal document for consideration at the next session.
