5. (a) UN Global Technical Regulation No. 6 (Safety glazing)

GRSG is expected to consider a proposal by India (based on GRSG-114-20 and WP.29-175-30) or by the IWG on PSG to clarify the provisions of UN Global Technical Regulation No. 6, if available.

GRSG-114-20 | UN R43: Proposal to amend the draft Supplement 8 to the 01 series of amendments Proposal to amend GRSG/2018/7 by adding the marking "/D" to signify laminated-glass panes subjected to the 2,260 g ball test and the headform test.
WP.29-175-30 | GTR 6: Request for authorization to develop an amendment Proposal to enable the approval of the laminated-glass panes with improved mechanical properties, especially as designed for front, exterior, forward-facing glazing of the upper deck of a double-deck vehicle. This request follows the approval by GRSG of a similar amendment to UN R43 (document GRSG/2018/7) and therefore seeks to maintain the alignment between GTR 6 and UN R43.
GRSG-115-35 | Panoramic Sunroof Glazing informal group status report
GRSG-115-38 | GTR 6: Comment on Amendment 2 Proposal for an amendment to provide for the optional use of laminated-glass panes meeting mechanical strength requirements in front, exterior, forward-facing glazing of upper deck of double decked buses instead of laminated windscreen. This is in line with similar proposal discussed in 114th session of GRSG for UN Regulation No. 43.

This request follows the approval by GRSG of a similar amendment to UN R43 (document GRSG/2018/7) and therefore seeks to maintain the alignment between GTR 6 and UN R43.
