50. The secretary informed GRPE about UNECE’s initiative to launch, in cooperation with the other United Nations regional commissions, a new project funded by the United Nations Development Account (UNDA) aimed at: (a) raising awareness of the CO2 emission levels in the inland transport sector, (b) developing a web-based uniform tool for monitoring and assessing inland transport CO2 emissions including a transport policy converter and © organizing capacity building workshops in every United Nations region to improve the skills of users of the CO2 assessment tool. He volunteered to keep GRPE informed about the work progress on this project. He announced his intention of organize by September 2011 a special expert meeting on this subject. He invited all experts interested in this project to send a message by email to grpe@unece.org.
