Changes include updating terminology for consistency with UN R48 baseline document (type-approved, retro-reflector, power-driven, direction-indicator lamp with hyphens), replacing visual failure tell-tale with tell-tale indicating failure, using RECAS instead of rear-end collision alert signal, standardizing vehicle category designations, applying scientific notation aligned with prior amendments, consolidating communication forms, reducing transitional provisions to latest only, and modifying paragraph 6.×.4 and 6.×.5 simplifications.
