7. The experts of the Informal Working Group “Simplification of the Lighting and Light-Signalling Regulations” (IWG SLR) reported on their activities (GRE-94-32) and presented an extensive “SLR package” made up of the consolidated texts of draft new series of amendments to four installation UN Regulations Nos. 48, 53, 74 and 86 (GRE-94-33, GRE-94-35, GRE-94-36, GRE-94-37, GRE-94-38, GRE-94-39, GRE-94-40, GRE-94-41). IWG SLR continued considerations on the apparent surface and improved visibility of the rear direction indicators against the stop lamps. The expert from the Netherlands (Kingdom of) reminded that the new series of amendments should include the updated provisions on the Unique Identifier (UI).
8. The Chair of IWG SLR pointed out that the new series of amendments to the installation UN Regulations would include transitional provisions for those series only, while the transitional provisions for the previous series would be collected and published in a separate reference document under the folder “Documents for reference only” on the GRE website.
9. GRE agreed to address ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2026/3 and GRE-94-02-Rev.1 under agenda item 7 © (see para. 32 below).
31. The expert from GTB proposed aligning the marking location requirements with those of UN Regulation No. 148 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2026/14 as amended by GRE-94-11).
32. The expert of IWG SLR proposed correcting errors and omissions in UN Regulation No. 150 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2026/3 as amended by GRE-94-02-Rev.1). Some experts raised questions on how type approval authorities could verify compliance with the provisions of a new Part 7 of Annex 6 on colour fastness. The expert from the Republic of Korea introduced further corrections (GRE-94-24).
33. GRE agreed that all draft amendments in paras. 31 and 32 above, as well as the pending ones in GRE-92-18 on UI, should be consolidated in a single formal document as draft Supplement 3 to the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 150, for revisiting at the October 2026 session of GRE and subsequent submitting to the March 2027 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1. GTB volunteered to prepare a consolidated document.
