34. The expert from the European Commission gave a status report (informal document GRSP-79-08) on the activities of the GRSP Task Force on Automated Vehicles Regulation Screening (TF-AVRS). The task force had reviewed all documents adopted last session and submitted an informal document (WP.29-199-06) to WP.29 to correct minor mistakes in three of them before their final adoption. Regarding future work, two gaps currently remained: crash test speeds for low-speed automated vehicles and new steering equipment types. He introduced two proposals for early feedback. Informal document GRSP-79-10 proposes to amend UN Regulation No. 127 (Pedestrian safety) to account for category Y vehicles (without occupants). All other crashworthiness requirements for category Y vehicles are grouped in a new UN Regulation (informal document GRSP-79-09). The text and requirements are based on UN Regulations Nos. 94, 95, 137 and 153. For the annexes, rather than repeating the test procedures present in those UN Regulations, wherever possible, references are made to the original text in the base regulations. The expert from the European Commission announced their intention to submit working documents for the next GRSP session.
