GRSP noted the decisions of the Inland Transport Committee (ITC) on climate change and confirmed its support for the development of an ambitious ITC strategy on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in inland transport until 2050, with priority actions for the ITC and its subsidiary bodies, and supported by a strong action plan with milestones. It took note of the draft outline (GRSP-73-61). Noting that the deadline for contributions and comments on the draft was Friday, 29 September 2023, GRSP invited delegations to send their contributions to the Chair before the beginning of September on (a) the ITC climate change mitigation strategy until 2050: reflections and considerations as to contributions and ambitious actions with milestones GRSP can make, (b) contributions by GRSP to the in-depth report on climate change and inland transport for the ITC’s eighty-sixth session, on the basis of the preliminary work contained in ECE/TRANS/2023/21.
