Proposal to amend GTR 25 by modifying requirements for State-of-Certified Energy (SOCE) monitors, battery performance, and in-use verification procedures for heavy-duty electrified vehicles. The amendment refines test procedures for usable battery energy determination through four methods (Methods 1a, 1b, and 2, and an alternative chassis dynamometer method), updates measurement requirements and accuracy specifications, clarifies vehicle selection criteria during certification and Part A verification to establish worst-case configuration by highest UBE value, increases temperature tolerance during test soak to 7°C for improved applicability, revises Annex 2 to reflect additional regional regulatory requirements, and improves descriptions of test methods to enhance applicability and accuracy of results. Implementation occurs following entry into force as specified in regional provisions.
JRC contribution to the EVE IWG on GTR No. 25 virtual distance verification. The document presents verification procedures based on energy throughput and virtual distance for stationary and dynamic tests. It discusses reading on-board values including virtual distance, propulsion energy, total energy throughput, and odometer readings. The document identifies outstanding questions regarding feasibility of using on-board values versus measured values, separation of stationary and dynamic test cases, and measurement approaches for V2X, PTO, and non-traction purposes energy.
Proposal to amend para. 2.45. to clarify that usable battery energy including UBEmeasured is considered as a positive, and amend para. 3.1.2. to specify that measured SOCR and measured SOCE values shall be determined by dividing measured values for electric range and UBE by certified values for electric range and UBE respectively, expressed in per cent, and that indicator values collected after the verification test procedure shall not be considered in the Part A verification.
Proposal to amend para. 1.1.3. to remove language requiring agreement with authorities regarding methods for customer values when specific methods are applied, delete redundant text already described in para. 1.1.1., and amend paras. 2.1.2. and 3.1.2. to clarify that usable battery energy values including UBE measured are considered as positive values.
OICA presents comments and proposals on UN GTR 25 discussion items for the 100th session of the EVE informal working group. Topics include test procedures and approaches, a standardized 50 km virtual driving distance for Power Take-Offs, simplification of calculation formulas, a PTO family concept with predefined power classes, handling of body builder PTOs, minimum power thresholds, High Power Resistor energy consideration, measurement accuracy, and default values for auxiliaries. OICA indicates agreement on certain items, identifies areas requiring correction or further discussion, and outlines Phase 3 priorities.
