54. The expert from France proposed to amend UN Regulation No. 122 to incorporate new provisions on systems for heating the passenger compartment by heat pump (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2018/21). The expert from OICA introduced GRSG-115-21 proposing to submit the new requirements as a new 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 122 together with appropriate transitional provisions. The expert from France added that the new provisions should be considered as “if-fitted” requirements and, therefore, not increase the level of stringency of the UN Regulation. He also introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2018/22 to limit possible exemptions of electric heating devices involved in heating the passenger compartment. 55. GRSG adopted both proposals as reproduced in Annex IV to this report. The secretariat was requested to submit the proposal to WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 5 to UN Regulation No. 122 for consideration at their March 2019 sessions. |
