On May 8, Slovenia became a Contracting Party to the 1998 Global Agreement. Per the procedures of the agreement, Slovenia’s accession will become effective from July 7. The 1998 Agreement governs the establishment of UN Global Technical Regulations. With the addition of Slovenia, the 1998 Agreement now has 34 sovereign participants (33 national governments plus the European Union).
