Proposal to align UN R94 with the draft amendment to add camera-monitor systems to UN R46 (i.e., document WP.29/2015/84). Under UN R94, the measurement for the 40% overlap between the vehicle and crash barrier excludes external rear-view mirrors. This proposal would extend the same treatment where the mirror has been replaced by an exterior camera.

The proposal increases the thorax compression criterion (ThCC) stringency to 42 mm (from 50 mm), clarifies vehicle width definition, and amends REESS acronym definition.
