Advanced Driver Distraction Warning (ADDW) systems: Proposal for a new UN Regulation

Proposal for a new type-approval regulation concerning vehicles equipped with systems designed to detect prolonged distraction of the driver’s visual focus away from the driving task and issue warnings if such distraction events are detected (based on European Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2590).
This proposal (WP.29/2026/40) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-five Contracting Parties out of the 0 applying UN R183 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-five voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
