The expert from the United States of America reported that, in December 2019, the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) had issued an advance notice of proposed rulemaking in which it had sought comments on matters related to the existing strength test, the bead unseating resistance test, and the tyre endurance test. In addition, NHTSA had sought comments on the current use and relevance of some tyre marking regulations and other matters related to new tyre technologies. The deadline for comments was set on 18 February 2020.
