Within the context of establishing regulations on Automated Driving Systems under the 1958 and 1998 Agreements, WP.29 mandated GRVA to hold workshops to draft provisions specific to the UN GTR and the UN Regulation for type approvals (e.g., GTR statement of rationale, UN Regulation administrative provisions for the granting of approvals). The workshops have also been tasked to prepare a guidance and interpretation document to support the implementation of the GTR and UNR on ADS.
