Proposal to simplify definitions by referring to UN Regulation No. 48 definitions, replace terminology (e.g., ‘vehicle type (moped)’ with ‘type of vehicles of category L1’), standardise hyphenation of terms (‘type-approved’, ‘type-approval’, ‘direction-indicator lamp’, ‘light-emitting surface’), delete references to ‘above’ in cross-references, add space for clarifying UN Regulation No. 48 series, delete ‘to this Regulation’ after Annex references, use scientific notation for lumens, add electric vehicle inclusion provisions, correct signal lamp category errors, add Annexes 6 and 7 (summary tables of lamp positioning and geometric visibility angles), insert para. 5.22, and include transitional provisions applicable from the official date of entry into force of the 04 series of amendments, with continued acceptance of preceding series approvals until 1 September [20xx].
