38. On behalf of TF AVSR, the expert from GTB presented an outline and some key provisions of a draft new UN Regulation on the ADS marker lamps (GRE-93-17). The Chair and the experts from France, Japan and CLEPA supported the envisaged 360-degree visibility of the ADS marker lamps not only for law enforcement agencies, but also for all road users, including pedestrians. The expert from Japan recalled that GRVA was expected to finalize a new UN Regulation on ADS in mid-2026 and stressed that GRE should be ready with its Regulation on the marker lamps by that time.

39. The expert from SAE updated GRE on the ongoing review of standard SAE J3134 “Automated Driving System Marker Lamp” (ADS ML) (GRE-93-03).
