118. The representative of the EU introduced the proposal for amendment 2 to UN GTR No. 24 (Laboratory measurements of brake emissions for light-duty vehicles), which was submitted for AC.3 consideration and vote. He informed the revisions were mainly based on the results of the brake emissions Interlaboratory Study (ILS3) and included several improvements to the measurement procedures, rendering those more robust and reliable. He also pointed at the possibility for Contracting Parties to adopt additional requirements. The proposal (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2025/84, ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2025/85 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/AC.3/59), with the modifications detailed below was established in the Global Registry of the 1998 Agreement on 25 June 2025 by consensus vote of Australia, China, European Union (representing Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden), India, Japan, Nigeria, Norway, Russian Federation, Türkiye and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Canada, Republic of Korea and United States of America abstained from voting. Table 13.6., renumber consistently the first column from second occurrence of “134” to the end of the table. Annex C, paragraph 4.5., renumber second occurrence of sub paragraph “(b)” to “©” and subparagraph “©” to “(d)”.
