Proposal to exempt “sensors, cameras, radar devices, etc.” components of approved driver assist systems from the Annex 3 prohibition against damage provided the basic braking and steering performance remains intact.
This proposal (WP.29/2020/52) was adopted by the World Forum. Fifteen Contracting Parties out of the 29 applying UN R42 were present for the vote by AC.1. Fourteen voted in favor with zero against and one abstaining.
