UN R109: Proposal for Supplement 1 to the 01 series of amendments

Proposal to:
Correct the description of a tyre to exclude aspects outside the scope of UN R109
Clarify the definition of nominal rim diameter
Clarify the definition of principal grooves in line with the proposal for UN R54
Amend para. 6.4.4.2. to clarify that the UN R117 certificate may be used for obtaining the type approval under UN R172 of retreaded tyres classified as traction tyre
Simplify the wording of the requirements for professional off-road tyres
Replace “XXX” with the UN Regulation No. 172 in the references to the approval of retreaded tyres with regard to their snow performance and/or classification as traction tyre.
This proposal (WP.29/2025/74) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-three Contracting Parties out of the 54 applying UN R109 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-three voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
