EVE-11-07 | RECHARGE proposal for the EU Product Environmental Footprint study on vehicle rechargeable batteries Initiated by the European Commission, the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) is a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based method to evaluate the environmental performance of a product. Through this project, RECHARGE aims to develop the applicable criteria to the environmental performance of batteries in selected applications. RECHARGE intends to develop the methodology of the environmental impact evaluation for rechargeable batteries based on the PEF guidance document, as well as selected Environmental Performance Criteria which are based on information accepted and recognized on an international basis by the battery industry and other stakeholders. Finally, the PEF pilot phase provides an opportunity to harmonize the rules for environmental labeling of the batteries.
EVE-11-08 | European Commission input regarding the new EVE informal group mandate and path forward
EVE-11-09 | European Commission proposal for changes to the EVE group reauthorization The European Commission proposes to amend the draft EVE mandate in order to avoid overlap in the scope of work with other informal working groups addressing electric vehicle environmental issues. In addition, the EC proposes to extend the mandate duration given its understanding of the complexity, tasks and decision processes involved in meeting its objectives.
EVE-11-10 | Revised proposal for further EVE informal group from the European Commission EC proposal to delete work on vehicle range and energy consumption testing and a method of stating energy consumption from the scope of the EVE group mandate (since these subjects are being pursued by other GRPE informal groups) and to extend the mandate duration.
