GRPE/2015/2 | Proposal for amendments to the 07 series of amendments to Regulation No. 83 The aim of the amendment is to clarify the wording of transitional provisions and align them with the General Guidelines for UN Regulatory Procedures and Transitional Provisions in UN Regulations (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/1044/Rev.1). In addition, the proposed wording above would allow Contracting Parties to refuse UN type-approvals if the requirements specified in the 07 series of amendments are not met.

GRPE-70-13 | Transposition of GTR No. 15 (WLTP) into EU and UN Regulations European Commission presentation reviewing the issues involved with transposing GTR 15 into EU emissions and fuel consumption regulations and into UN R83 and UN R101. The EC proposes that WP.29 should transpose GTR 15 into a new "WLTP UN Regulation" that would supersede UN R83 and UN R101.

GRPE-70-06/Rev.1 | Proposal to amend the draft proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 49 This proposal aligns the transitional provisions of Revision 6 of UN Regulation 49 and thus in document GRPE/2014/3 with the General Guidelines for UN Regulations (WP.29/1044/Rev.1). This change requires changes to Table 1 of Annex 3 to cover diesel and dual-fuel engines bearing the letter B. The proposal also would allow for methods other than monitoring the reagent tank level or reagent flow in order to monitor reagent consumption in Annex 11.

GRPE-70-02 | Proposal for Supplement 7 to Regulation No. 85 The purpose of this proposal is to adjust the engine power-measurement calculation for supercharged and turbocharged engines fitted with a system that compensates for ambient conditions such as temperature and altitude. The proposed change would eliminate redundant correction factors that result in inaccurate results for these engine configurations.

GRPE-69-02 | Proposal for amendment to Global Technical Regulation (GTR) No. 2 Recently EU-Directive 2013/60 has been introduced in which chapter 5 of EU Directive 97/24 is amended. One of the amendments concerns the introduction of reference fuels E5 (petrol) and B5 (diesel fuel). When stage C in 97/24-5 is being applied for, reference is made to GTR No. 2. In GTR No. 2, however, these reference fuels have not yet been incorporated. This proposal aims to correct this omission by amending the reference fuel specification for alternative C in table 6-1.

One of the amendments concerns the introduction of reference fuels E5 (petrol) and B5 (diesel fuel). When stage C in 97/24-5 is being applied for, reference is made to GTR No. 2. In GTR No. 2, however, these reference fuels have not yet been incorporated. Document GRPE-69-02 proposed to incorporate these fuels into GTR No. 2; however, pursuant to comment received from several Contracting Parties, the Netherlands proposes to withdraw the document while retaining the option to revisit the issue in the future.

12. Fuel Quality (FQ)
GRPE/2015/9 | Proposal for amendments to the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3) The objective of this document is to provide recommendations for the minimum quality of market fuels (i.e. gasoline and diesel) that should be introduced concurrently with the corresponding emissions standards. They complement the motor vehicle and NRMM pollutant emission standards that a country or a region may be considering to introduce.

14. Vehicle Indoor (Interior) Air Quality (VIAQ)
GRPE-70-09 | Proposal for terms of reference and rules of procedure for the Informal Working Group on Vehicle Indoor Air Quality Proposal for an informal expert group to exchange information and develop recommendations concerning vehicle interior air quality as it relates to emissions of volatile organic compounds or aldehydes from materials used in vehicle interior which are harmful to humans. The proposal envisions the development of test procedures to measure such emissions for incorporation as recommendations within the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (RE3 under the 1958 Agreement), Special Resolution 1 (SR1 under the 1998 Agreement), or as a new Mutual Resolution (covering both agreements).
GRPE-70-19 | Comments on the draft terms of reference and rules of procedure for the Informal Working Group on Vehicle Indoor Air Quality OICA proposal to emphasize a focus on building from existing industry measurement techniques and other standards as well as to clarify the subject of the group on vehicle "interior" rather than "indoor" air quality.
